To the Editor of the " Indian Medical Gazette." Silt, -My remarks 011 the above subject, to which Dr. Daniels takes exception in your November issue, did not refer to his own! valuable papers, but to private conversations with Mr. Hutchinson and others. I had noted that Dr. Daniels' statements referred to the aboriginal Fijians only. My septicism applied to tho moro sweeping statement that syphilis was absent in Fiji. On 360, Vol. VII, Mr. Hutchinson heads an article with the title '? Reputed, absence of Syphilis in the Fiji Islands and Prevalence of Yaics." '
